Hello there,
On advice I'm sending you an issue because I do not seem to be able to have a proper fr-fr layout on my Unihertz Titan.
and thus, having a similar keyboard experience, if better is possible that's even better, than Kika Keyboard.
running Gargoyle's GSI if that changes anythin in the process, as far as I know the only ROM optimized for the og Titan.
For example :
Typing the m key on the keyboard should give us an m as well, which is not the case.
Depending on the setting I try either I get nothing or either I get ":"...
This is pretty much my first complaint at first, other than that I do not have anything to complain for now...
Is Kika Keyboard enabled in the settings alongside Titanboard? Titanboard should only give you a ":" if alt is pressed/latched/locked, as per the user manual.
Ah. I understand you very well now. The french layout, which you can see here, on line 332, is actually QWERTY, and not AZERTY.
What I meant to do with Titanboard is, the physical characters should do exactly what is visible, regardless of language (unless it's some non-latin stuff like Hebrew, Greek, or Arabic). So the keyboard being AZERTY is actually your Android physical keyboard settings interfering with Titanboard. You likely have French (AZERTY) set as your physical keyboard language.
The only thing you and I could do, if you want AZERTY behaviour instead of QWERTY, is switch your French from AZERTY, and I would need to make a French (AZERTY) keymap in Titanboard.
Otherwise, if you switch from French (AZERTY) in physical keyboard settings in Android, you will get regular QWERTY with French characters, and the keyboard will work as expected, every visible character will do what's written on it. I know that that might be quite uncomfortable, though.
